I’m Patricia, a semi-retired ESL teacher and empty nester, offering two private bedrooms exclusively for female students seeking short-term accommodation. My home is located near the vibrant and culturally rich Commercial Drive, named one of the ‘Coolest Streets in the World’ in 2024! With just a 30-minute commute to downtown Vancouver, it’s a perfect spot for students who appreciate convenience and authenticity.

What’s Included:
- Two private bedrooms
- Shared kitchen and bathroom (with the host and one other student)
- All utilities (water, electricity, heating, and high-speed internet)
- Weekly laundry access

Important Details:
- Exclusively for tenants – no overnight guests allowed
- Meals and airport pickup are not provided
- A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your room
- First month’s rent is due upon arrival

House Rules:
1. Keep shared spaces clean and organized.
2. Remove shoes upon entering the house.
3. Cook before 8 PM and clean up after yourself.
4. Keep bathroom usage brief and tidy.
5. Quiet hours begin at 10 PM.
6. Respect housemates and avoid sharing security codes.
7. Toilet paper and laundry detergent not provided.

- A copy of your student visa and school acceptance letter
- A photocopy of your passport for identity confirmation

I liked the location too! You can go to downtown by bus or train for about 30 mins. Also, it’s fun to explore local shops nearby.

I am studying English in Vancouver. I have been living in this house for 5 months. It is a very warm and cozy house. The landlord is very kind and always helps me. There are restaurants and convenience stores in the neighbourhood. It’s very convenient. And just 20 minutes by bus or sky train to my school in Downtown.

สวัสดีค่ะ เราเป็นนักเรียนโรงเรียนเรียนภาษาที่ Downtown ค่ะ พักอยู่บ้านหลังนี้มา 5 เดือนแล้ว เป็นบ้านอบอุ่นมาก เจ้าของบ้านใจดีมากๆ ช่วยเหลือและให้คำแนะนำตลอด ที่ละแวกบ้านมีร้านอาหาร, ซูปเปอร์มาเก็ตเยอะมาก สะดวกสุดๆค่ะ จากบ้านนั่งรถบัสหรือรถไฟฟ้าเข้า Downtown ประมาณ 20 นาทีเองค่ะ ใกล้มากๆ.

It was a temporary accommodation in Vancouver, but the location, room, and kitchen were all good, so I stayed for another month! In fact, when I didn't know anything about Vancouver, I thought a lot about whether it was a good location, but it was nice to take a bus to downtown at once and to have a good atmosphere on the commercial drive around the house. And the landlord has a good personality and is really cool! The house or room look much better than the picture! Warm water comes out well and the room is not cold either!! The kitchen is also good because it can be used comfortably within a set time!

It was nice that this was my first stay in Canada!! Have a good time in Vancouver, everyone!

밴쿠버 와서 임시숙소로 정했던 곳이었는데, 위치도 방도 주방도 모두 좋아서 1달 더 살게 되었어요! 사실 밴쿠버에 대해 아무것도 모를 때, 괜찮은 위치인가 고민을 많이 했었는데, 다운타운까지 버스도 한 번에 가고 집 주변에 있는 커머셜 드라이브에 맛있는 것도 많고 분위기도 좋아서 좋았습니다. 그리고 집주인분이 성격이 좋으시고 쿨하세요! 집이나 방 사진이 사진보다 실제가 훨씬 좋아요! 따뜻한 물도 잘 나오고 방도 춥지않아요!! 주방도 정해진 시간 이내에는 편하게 사용할 수 있어서 좋습니다!

이 집이 캐나다에서 머문 첫 집이어서 좋았습니다!! 모두들 밴쿠버에서 좋은 시간 잘 보내다 가세요!

Patricia was such a kind and amazing host! She was super helpful and able to tell me about the area and close-by places to shop and eat. The house was beautiful and the neighborhood was super close to everything I needed, with access to all the bus routes. I really recommend staying here, it was an amazing experience!

여기 진짜 최고예요 .. 워홀로 왔는데 단기숙소로 지내려다가 너무 좋아서 연장해서 세달반이나 살았습니다 집주인분이 여름휴가로 집 비우시지만 않았어도 밴쿠버 떠날 때까지 눌러살았을 것 같아요 .. 이 위치에 개인 방에 이 정도 하우스 이 가격 정말정말정말 괜찮습니다 !!!!!! 집주인 분도 완전 쿨하시고 좋으세요 ESL 선생님이라 그런지 모르겠지만 말도 또박또박 해주셔서 대화하는 것도 즐거웠어요 •• 버스 정류장 5분 거리에 하나 7분 거리에 하나 있고 다운타운이랑 접근성도 좋고 소위 힙한 거리인 커머셜 드라이브도 바로 옆이고 .. 집 자체도 진짜 예뻐요 특히 거실이 진짜 너무 좋은데 집주인 분 계정으로 티비로 넷플도 보게 해주십니다 ㅋㅋㅋ 맥주 한두캔하면서 무비나잇하기도 좋고 .. 아무튼 가능하다면 바로 계약하세요

Patricia’s homestay is a fantastic choice for those visiting Vancouver for the first time. It's conveniently located near a bus station (6-7 minutes away), making downtown easily accessible. The house itself is clean, calm, and beautiful. I especially love the living room—it’s incredibly comfortable and relaxing.

제가 소음에 민감한 편인데 Patricia의 집은 밤에 자동차 소음이 전혀 없고 매우 조용해서 늘 잠을 푹 잘 수 있었어요! 늘 불편한 것 없냐고 물어봐 주시고 현지 생활에 대해서도 자세하게 알려 주셔서 많은 팁들을 얻을 수 있었습니다. 사실 밴쿠버에서 현지 호스트들을 만나는게 쉽지 않은데, 아주머니가 현지 분이셔서 대화하면서 영어 실력이 늘 수 있는 건 또다른 장점이에요. 제가 개인적으로 카펫 바닥을 별로 좋아하지 않는데 마룻 바닥이라 맨발로 편하게 다닐수 있어서 좋았습니다!

My stay at Patricia's house could not have been better. Patricia is extremely welcoming, friendly, kind, informative, and always happy to help with anything. She is an expert on the local area and what it has to offer, and her home is beautiful, spacious, very well maintained and clean. My room was well presented, my privacy respected, and there was always clear communication. There is also access to a fully equipped kitchen, and I was made to feel welcome immediately and throughout the duration of my 4 month stay.

It is hard to imagine a better location than this in Vancouver; East Van is my favourite part of the city and Commercial Drive is 5 minutes away. There are extremely convenient transport links, and a huge strip of cafes, restaurants, bars, vintage shops, music shops, thrift stores, and everything else you could need. I highly recommend this as a place to stay!
