Our home is located in a friendly, quite and safe neighborhood and is located at Pharmacy and Ellesmere, 3 – 5 minutes to bus stops and 45 minutes to Downtown Toronto by subway. The closest subway stations are 17 minutes to Victoria Park station (Bloor line) by public transit and 20 minutes to York Mills station by pubic transit (Yonge line).

3 minutes walk to the shopping mall including banks, library, medical offices, drug stores, and number of restaurants and fast food stores.

We love and enjoy meeting people of different nationalities knowing and learning their cultures while sharing Canadian culture. Every homestay person that stays in our home is treated as part of our family. We let the homestay person feel that our family is a HOME away from home.

REGULATIONS:
Only accepting students under 30 years old.
Absolutely NO smoking, vaping, drug or alcohol use.

HOUSE RULES:
SECURITY -
1. Make sure that you lock the main door when you leave the house.
2. If you are not coming home for the night or for several nights, please let us know. Also, if you are coming home later than your usual time, please advise when to expect you.

FIRE SAFETY
No candles, incense, or any other source of combustion.

CLEANLINESS
1. Common areas should always be kept clean. If you accidentally spill or make a mess in the common area, please clean up your mess. Rooms should be kept clean. We will check your room occasionally to make sure it is maintained.
2. Only paper and non-food items should be placed in the recycling bins. Garbage (non-recyclable plastics, food wrappers) should go in the garbage bin inside your room. Food waste should be thrown in the waste bin in the kitchen.
3. Please make sure that you empty the garbage bin in your room/kitchen on Wednesday night EACH WEEK to the appropriate bins outside. Garbage collection is Thursday morning. Please do not overflow the garbage/recycling/green bins.


LAUNDRY
1. Washer and dryer are to be used once a week (Saturday or Sunday, any time). NO shoes are allowed in the washer/dryer. NO flammable items in the washer/dryer.
2. Be sure to check the dryer if it is free of lint before loading it.
3. Remove your clothes from the washer/dryer immediately after the cycle so other people will be able to use the machine.
4. Please follow the precautions when using the machines.

BATHROOM USE
1. The bathroom should be shared by all homestays. Please make sure that you don’t stay too long in the washroom especially in the morning when other students also need to go to school.
2. Please do not flush any feminine hygiene products down the toilet (tampons, pads, etc). Toilet paper only.
3. Please make sure that the bathroom is clean and no water is spilled for the next person to use. Bathrooms are subject to inspection.

MEALS NOT PROVIDED.

KITCHEN

1. Please clear away any of the dishes that you use and clean up after yourself in the kitchen.
2. The kitchen is shared with other guests, therefore, please do not cook highly aromatic foods (e.g., fried fish, seafood, curries).
3. The fridge/freezer in the basement is small size. therefore, please make sure that others too need space in the fridge/freezer, and you are not overloading it with ONLY your food.
4. Please only run water through the drain – not food, oil, or grease (the cost of paper towel to remove food/oil is much cheaper than a sewage clog).

INTERNET
1. High speed Wi-Fi is available.
2. If internet is down, please let us know so we can call our provider to fix it right away.

SMOKING/LIQUOR/DRUGS
1. Smoking and/or vaping is not allowed.
2. Liquor and drugs will not be tolerated.

GUESTS
1. If you are expecting a guest, please let us know beforehand. This is our home and we want to know if there’s anybody coming to our house.
2. NO overnight guests allowed.
3. Guests should vacate the premises by 10pm.

OTHER HOUSE RULES
1. Please turn off lights (your room, washroom and common areas), water and appliances when not in use. Also, the light in the microwave is not a night light. Therefore, please leave the microwave door closed all the time.
2. If you have or buy any additional appliances for your room (e.g. heater, humidifier, etc). there will be a charge for additional utilities/appliances.
3. NO pets allowed.
4. Please keep noise to a minimum, NO excessive noise after 10pm.
5. Please address each other with respect.
6. An inspection of the property will be done with the host and student prior to moving in and on the day of moving out to ensure there are no damages. It is the student’s responsibility to report any damage to the property.
7. For guests staying longer than 3 days please replace your supplies (toilet paper, paper towel, etc.
8. Owners have access to the basement as needed.
9. You will be provided keys for the house if you lose you shall pay a replacement cost.
10. This is a temporary place for one to stay. Therefore, you will be responsible for cleaning up before checking out or $50 will be charged for cleaning.

RENT:
Rent is due on the first day of your stay and subsequently on the first day of the month if you are staying for more than one month.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT
1. The long-stay guests will pay a damage deposit of CAD250 by cash.
2. Damage deposit collected from the guests: Upon arrival.
3. The damage deposit will be returned to the guest at the time of check out if there is no damage to the property (in cash).
