Hello, welcome to Claire's homestay, your new home away from your home country. My name is Claire, I came to Canada from Beijing China 10 years ago. I‘m familiar with the customs of the local people, and understand the difficulties and challenges faced by newcomers to this land. Whether you are a student or young professional, life can be stressful in various aspects, such as language barriers, strange environments, and trivial details of life that hinder you from pursuing your higher education or career development. We always do our best to reduce your burdens regarding meal preparation, housing and transportation, so you can enjoy your life overseas.

My house is located in a very safe and convenient community, with a public transportation station (No.4 and No. 053) only 3 minutes walking distance through a green breezeway at the back of the house (which doesn't show on Google map). The buses go directly to the core of the university campuses, including Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) , University of Alberta (UoA) and only a 10-minute walking distance to King's University. The entire house has just been recently renovated up and down, inside and out, including brand new bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, etc.

We provide authentic Asian Cuisine, mostly Chinese and Korean style of meals, which can be customized to adjust the guest's taste, occasionally Western cooking for a local taste. The homestay fee includes room rental, two meals (breakfast and dinner), fruits, and common living supplies (such as bedding, kitchen supplies, toiletry, laundry detergent etc).
I have a lovely daughter who is currently attending primary school. She likes drawing, reading and playing kitchen games. She is bilingual and very friendly, and she has been taught to strictly respect the privacy of our guests, will not approach to guests without permission. I have two cats who are indoors only and regularly vaccinated and dewormed, they're very loving and calm.

On holidays such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas etc, we will also make various desserts and bakeries with festive characteristics. In addition, I like watercolour painting, and practice it at home in my spare time. Sometimes I volunteer for face-painting for events which have been highly praised ^^. I work in the provincial healthcare system with a stable job and relatively flexible hours. When there are large-scale cultural events in the local area, if the homestay friend is interested, he/she is more than welcome to join us.
