Welcome to Thousand Oaks - Westlake Village, CA - one of the safest cities in USA. I am NOT in Los Angeles city, but I am about 1 hour Northwest of Los Angeles downtown and Beverly Hills. Here is quieter, cleaner, less traffic - a wonderful place to be. The name is Thousand Oaks because the Oak trees are really numbered. We have many parks, hiking trails, restaurants, shopping, and even movie stars. Great schools and universities are here. California Lutheran University, ELS, AF English Language school, Moorpark College, all nearby .

My home is a large gated pool home close to shopping, banks, parks, bus, freeway, and University and Language school. I have been a host family for over 20 years. My home was chosen to film a docu-video about the homestay experience in America for distribution in Japan. I have had many students from various countries and diverse cultural backgrounds in my home. I enjoy having students and visitors from many diverse cultures and backgrounds. I have traveled extensively working for 5 international airlines and I lived in Europe for a couple of years.

My daughter started speaking Japanese before English when we had 8 students at the same time. Some of them are still returning after many years. I have had students stay as long as 5 years and have meet their parents and families. Now my daughter is grown and has a family of her own out of state and I miss the international influence. I have extra rooms in my large home so I welcome international students and visitors.
